Children from the villages in Taiping on the outskirts of Perak, love to meet people from overseas and be exposed to the different cultures. Teachers, with or without experience, often make a very significant and worthwhile contribution to the children’s lives here. This proves to be an extremely enjoyable gap volunteer project in Malaysia.
The Volunteer Teaching Experience in Taiping will provide volunteers with a unique experience and perspective from among Taiping’s local communities. You will have the chance to get fully immersed in the local culture, whilst supporting children in their day-to-day education and helping them to develop and prepare for their future prospects.
You will leave the centre between 12:30-1:00 pm in the afternoon to teach at the community hall for two hours. You’ll receive a lovely lunch at the orphanage and you leave the school each day around 3:30 or 4 in the afternoon.
During school holidays and public holidays construction, painting or renovation work continues. At such times you can take part in special classes and English camps for the community.
