The Sri Lanka Trekking Week is an adventure filled experience packed with breathtaking hikes and a number of other exciting activities.

During the experience you will follow a seasoned guide who can introduce you to the route and landscape in a unique way that few others could replicate.

Your journey will take you through the Hill Country that is central to Sri Lanka; the area is renowned for its flora and fauna, and travellers will surely be amazed by the diversity and beauty that they see along the way.

The week includes treks to the Rose Stone Garden, Ambuluwawa Hills and Bible Rock, as well as a visit to Sigriya Rock and a local spice plantation.

Alongside all of these incredible sights and experiences, you will spend time taking in village culture and the country’s religion and traditions during visits to the 3 Loop Temples.

Trip Itinerary

Given the dynamic and diverse nature of this program, it can sometimes be subject to change depending on the time of year, weather, holidays and festivals or events. In the event of change, you will get the chance to try other more appropriate activities.

Adjustments can sometimes also be made to improve and enhance the program, as well as to improve the activities you take part in.


  • Visit to Sri Lanka’s first tea plantation and tea factory. Then go on a beautiful walk around the “Lulkadura Estate”.


  • Day hike to Ambuluwawa Peak.


  • Go on a temple walk and experience the ancient temples. This is called the “loop temple walk”.


  • Today you would face a little adventure by going on a hike to Riverstone mountain. After the hike you will then proceed to Sigiriya for an overnight stay.


  • Today would be another exciting day as you will be able to climb the Sigiriya rock where you will be able to see the ruins of ancient palace built on the top of a giant rock. Then you will climb up another beautiful mountain named Pidurangala .

Weekends: Evaluation and some group discussions. The rest of the weekend will be free for you to visit or re-visit local landmarks.

This schedule can be changed and/or amended depending on weather conditions, local conditions and unforeseen circumstances.

Trip Accommodation

Kandy, the last royal capital of Sri Lanka is a major tourist destination. About 115 km from Colombo at 465 meters above sea level. Famous for the Temple of the Tooth and many other temples the city could be called the cultural capital of the island. This bustling market town is rich in cultural diversity and has plenty to offer to the tourists from songs dances and handicrafts to ancient temples and adventure activities. Kandy was a royal capital and the last stronghold of the Kandyan kings against foreign powers, holding out against them for about 300 years. The two main Buddhist Chapters are based here and formed the last centre of independent Buddhist thought during colonial times.

Accommodation & Food

You will be accommodated in one of our centres which are located 2-4 kilometres away from Kandy centre. The accommodation holds 4-10 people per room on a single gender basis. Private rooms can be requested and are subject to availability, please contact us before hand if you would like a private room.

Food Arrangements
You will be provided with three meals a day on weekdays and two meals per day on weekends. The meals are a mix of Western and Sri Lankan food, consisting mainly of vegetarian dishes including rice and vegetables. You can also eat out at any of the local restaurants.

Our house is located 2 kilometres away from the city centre, where you can find anything you might need.

The nearest ATM and supermarket are a 15 minute walk away from our accommodation.

Sights & Surroundings
The places to visit during your weekends or on your project holidays are the Royal Botanical Gardens, Knuckles mountain range, Udawatta kele sanctuary, Hortons plains national park and the railway museum.
