Are you passionate about sport and passing on valuable skills to children? Grab this opportunity to take part in a project aimed at developing children’s sports skills while encouraging their emotional, social, physical and academic growth. As a participant, you will be expected to deliver fun sports sessions to children in rural areas, encouraging them to be involved in a wide variety of sports. Focusing mainly on team sports, you’ll be organising activities involving sports like netball, football, volleyball and basketball. Using these sports, the children will also develop a better level of stamina, emotional well-being and overall health. Additionally, they will develop teamwork skills that will be highly beneficial to them in the future. These include communication, collaboration, decision making, problem solving and leadership skills. Using the sports field for all activities, the program ensures the children enjoy the space and freedom of the outdoors.
You’ll enjoy breakfast at the accommodation before being transferred to the project location where you will get to know the team you’ll be working with, including the sports coach. At this point you’ll be given an introduction to the project, the curriculum and the active role you’ll be playing during your stay.
Tuesday to Friday
A detailed schedule of each day will be provided onsite as it is largely dependent on the timings of the partner school. However, you can expect to deliver up to 2 training sessions a day during school hours and a further two hours after school finishes at 15:30.
