Give local children the chance to practice English and improve their confidence through the kindergarten teaching program. In this life-changing program, you will spend your time in Mozambique teaching English, mathematics and life skills to 3-6-year-old local children. You’ll develop a true taste of Mozambican culture and an opportunity to understand the local culture, all the while helping out the young children of the local community and teaching them skills that will undoubtedly help them in later life.
Through songs, games, colouring, and drawing, as well as informal lessons, you will work with the eager young children and give them an opportunity to practice their English language and pronunciation, as well as learn about other cultures. Some of your time will be spent assisting the local teachers in tasks that are a part of the regular school schedule.
This is the kind of experience you will remember for a lifetime, and provide you with an insider’s glimpse into authentic Mozambique lifestyle and culture. You will have opportunities to explore the local area as well as get to know the local community and other participants in this eye-opening program.
Your daily schedule will be largely determined by your placement kindergarten, in which you will meet to plan and discuss the days activities. You will also have time each afternoon to plan the activities for the following day. Some of the things you might spend your day doing include English lessons, dancing, singing, playing sports or helping the local teachers with their curriculum.
