Trip Details

A wonderful opportunity to volunteer to share your skills at a Kindergarten in Kuching. You will be a part of a project that aims to build the confidence of children by improving their knowledge of the English language, also improving their future prospects.

As a participant on this project, you will sow seeds for these children’s love of learning and success as you encourage them to learn and grow creatively while teaching them basic English in an informal and fun way. Your efforts will be greatly appreciated by the local community which they will demonstrate as they welcome you into their lives.

There are several kindergarten projects at Kuching which support the children from poorer communities at the beginning of their education. The children you will be working with will be between 4 and 5 years old and will be excited to meet you. Their overwhelming welcome will be the result of their natural and genuinely friendly nature, mixed with their excitement to meet you!

Your teaching methods will need to be informal and fun due to the age of the children and their natural instinct to learn through play. Although this is not teaching in a formal sense, it is still learning, and the activities you provide will need to be purposeful, enjoyable and memorable for you and the children to get the most benefit from them.
