Get your hiking boots on! This Adventure Trekking week in Nepal starts on a high through the mountains at Shivapuri …and just keeps on going! If you are looking for a fun-packed week, this is definitely the trip for you! Explore the Nepali jungles, become a pro at white-water rafting and head off on safari, spotting exotic animals on the way. Warning: this programme is not for couch potatoes and a level of fitness will be required!

With so much to do, you’ll be glad to kick back a little at the end of a long day. During your journey, you will be staying at a variety of hotels and guesthouses, including a night on the bus, and even a memorable evening under the stars! Many volunteers make lasting relationships on this trip as the challenging but rewarding journey pulls you together as a group. In fact, you’ll probably meet people you’ll be staying with on your next programme! If you’re coming on your own, don’t worry, however, as you will be well taken care of by your local coordinator, who will guide and support you throughout your stay!

During this exciting week, you’ll have the opportunity to try out lots of new activities as you journey through Nepali mountains, jungles and plains. Nature lovers will enjoy spotting exotic animals as they go, and you’ll also visit an elephant breeding enclosure where you can get up close and personal with these majestic creatures! Furthermore, you’ll get to experience Nepali culture first-hand, as you journey through villages and towns, and explore the local areas. In fact, your last night will involve some traditional dancing around a campfire as you celebrate the end of this memorable adventure, trekking through Nepal!

Trip Itinerary

You will arrive on the Sunday, and have plenty of time to relax and refresh yourself before your exciting week begins!

Schedule

Monday

  • Hike through the mountain in Shivapuri.
  • Overnight stay at the centre in Kathmandu

Tuesday

  • Drive to Charaudi early in the morning (3 hours)
  • White-water rafting at Trisuli river
  • Overnight camping and traditional dancing!

Wednesday

  • Continue rafting
  • Drive to Chitwan
  • Jungle trek and safari!
  • Overnight stay at a resort

Thursday

  • Canoeing and jungle trekking
  • Overnight stay at a resort

Friday

  • Morning jungle activities
  • Drive back to Kathmandu
  • Overnight stay at the centre

Trip Accommodation

During your Trekking Adventure in Nepal, you’ll be well looked after! Here are some details about your stay, with further information on the schedule.

About the Accommodation

As you are travelling, you will enjoy varied accommodation along the route, staying in hotels and guest houses – as well as an overnight journey on the bus! One night you will even be camping out under the stars, as you take in some traditional dancing by local people!

Food 

Nepalese food is delicious, consisting mainly of vegetarian dishes including rice and vegetables.You will mostly have Nepalese-style dishes (vegetarian and chicken) which will be served during the trip. However, vegetarian meal are always available. All meals are included, and this consists of 3 meals during the week, and 2 at the weekend.

Facilities

These will vary from place to place. However, your coordinator will ensure that your needs are taken care of! You will usually have access to western toilets, and there is wifi in public areas of your accommodation so you can keep in touch with friends and family back home.

Transportation

Transportation required outwith that which is provided in the programme is not included. Any additional excursions must be arranged separately.
