Sports Coaching Volunteer South Africa (5 weeks minimum)
Work with under-priviledged children on this exciting sports coaching program to enrich their lives through structured sports activities and physical education. This program has been designed for volunteers or interns to give their time coaching sports to disadvantaged and vulnerable children in small communities of South Africa. The children are eager to play and learn, without this program they would have little or no access to fun, physcial education and activities, so you can really feel like you are making a tangible difference in the local community.
This program requires a minimum of 5 weeks commitment, and you will be working with children ages between 10 to 13 years old on a daily basis. You have the choice to coach in Football, Cricket, Rugby, Tennis or Hockey, and between October and March there is also an availability for Swimming coaching.
The children involved in this program come from vulnerable and disadvantaged backgrounds, where structured sports are not a part of their daily life, and they often recieve little attention from home. This means they are eager, excited and thankful to meet coaches who want to work with them daily, not to mention the excitement of meeting people from other countries and cultures! By bringing sports coaching into their lives you will be bringing them fun, entertainment, excellent life skills (like communication, teamwork and leadershio), health benefits and improved social skills – all of which will benefit the children for the rest of their lives.
