The Construction and Renovation project is to support the village community focal points such as the school, playground, public library etc. Together we aim to make a difference for the local villages and children by supporting them in a quest for better living conditions.
You will help to build and renovate buildings essential for the growth and development of the local community. Our project helps relieve them of some of the stress and current pressure that they are living under.
Project participants work under a local foreman (coordinator) who provides guidance and training for volunteers to work alongside local families. The project involves hard physical and manual labour such as brick laying, carpentry, painting, tile laying and landscaping/gardening.
After breakfast on Monday you will starting planning the project you’re participating in with the local Co-ordinator. After lunch you’ll head to the location. There you’ll start work before retiring to the Centre in the late afternoon to feedback what you’ve achieved. Then it’s time for dinner and a chance to relax.
During the rest of the week you’ll follow a similar routine. This will involve free time until lunch since in the evening you will be working on construction.
*** The placement will run at local schools or communities and the programme may change, depending on the school location and commitment. The working time will be around four hours each day***
